Newsies and the Splits

A few weeks ago, my family went to see Newsies on broadway. It was amazing! I would definitely recommend that you go see it if you’re in New York. The dancing was probably my favorite part. All those actors are so flexible! The entire time I was watching, all I was thinking was I wish I could dance like that!

I was thinking about Newsies the other day, and it reminded me of an incident that happened a couple of weeks ago at play rehearsal.

So we were warming up at rehearsal, and I was doing my splits. A girl named Rachel who’s kind of a frenemy of mine was next to me, and when she saw my splits (which aren’t all that stellar by the way) she gave a little approving nod and said, “Nice.”

Inside I was thinking something along the lines of: What? How dare you act as if you’re entitled to be the judge of my flexibleness?!?! AVADA KEDAVRA!!!!!!!!! But I just kind of nodded and said something along the lines of: “Thanks.”

I don’t really think Rachel meant too much harm in saying that, but it was still kind of obnoxious. I mean, my splits were much better than hers. She was probably fishing for a compliment, but I wasn’t about to give one.

Anyway…yeah. If you know me, and you know where I live, you should come see the play I’m in! It’s pretty awesome. I’m going to be on vacation the next two weeks–I know, again?! But hey, it’s summer. I’m at home for the rest of the summer after that, and then school is starting, which means I’ll be able to put out more posts because I won’t be on vacation.

Jenna is out. Peace!

(P.S.–Like this post if you wish you could have gone to Comic Con! ;-))
